Class assembly 8.10.21
This week, Ash class were taken to their local library in Barking. Through trips to the library, we hope to encourage interest in reading and show them of the facilities they have around them. Children were really well behaved and enjoyed being read to by the library staff. They were given the opportunity to choose books and sign out books using library cards. This is aimed to teach the children responsibility. (Books are to be returned to the library in 3 weeks from when it is taken out). We will be visiting the library again later in the year and the children look forward to it.
On the 4th of October, the children in Ash class joined in with the celebration of World Animal Day. The children looked at The issue around abandon pets in London post lock down life. The children created posters to encourage adoption of abandoned pets, letters in the perspectives of abandoned pets and information leaflets to provide advise before getting a pet. The children showed great level of empathy and sense of responsibility towards the welfare of animals.
