Yet another week packed with activities for Oak Class! This week has seen us visit The British Library for a fantastic workshop about how research matters. We looked at an illustrated map from 1918 and researched using source material before deciding on the best way to represent or research.  These are fundamental skills for life - an incredible valuable trip. We also took part in a STEM careers workshop in which we found out how measurement is so important to the world of work. In English, we finished our work on non-chronological reports, with Year 6 showing some excellent writing (especially for their first effort of the new school year!). We finished our unit on place value in maths this week and are looking forward to learning about the four operations. In RE, we learned about the story of The Prodigal Son, and represented this story through our own watercolour paintings. As part of our Catholic Social Teaching at St Joseph's we took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for cancer research and care. Our computing lesson saw us understand how data is transferred over the internet. After such a busy week, we were relieved to spend some time on Friday afternoon enjoying the school library.
