As we approach the end of the school year, Cherrytree class are continuing to work hard in preparation for becoming year 4s, but they are also excited for all of the fun events we have at school. Year 3 were lucky enough to be invited to the Year 5 guitar recital this week. We were all absolutely blown away by the amazing guitarists they have become this year. The children all enjoyed singing along to the songs as they played, especially The Wellerman. The children also visited the incredible art exhibition organised by Mrs Maaka, which displayed all of the fantastic art that the children of St Joseph's have produced this year. In addition to working methodically to complete data table in maths this week, the children worked methodically to represent the data in bar charts, in which they measured and labelled their own axes and selected the pertinent data. In English, Cherrytree class wrote an excellent book report on the anthology African Tales, in which they selected their two favourite stories to examine in detail. In history, they continued their journey through Roman Britannia, looking at Hadrian's Wall and the daily life of a Roman soldier in a fort. The children have worked incredibly hard, and rounded of careers week by coming to school dressed as their future jobs. We had so many healthcare workers, teachers, police officers, astronauts, artists, athletes, even some secret agents! What an incredible week!
