Another busy week for Fern Class, who started strong with planning their diary entry written from the point of view of Ananse the Spider. They plunged straight into the new PE topic of orienteering on our school field and had a great time investigating reflective and non-reflective surfaces, using torches and laser pointers. In maths, the children learned about different angles, and began to identify acute and obtuse angles. In history, the children investigated the Roman invasion of Great Britain, and discussed the positives and negatives of Roman occupation. We rounded off the week by visiting the Curfew Tower that belonged to Barking Abbey, next to our school and St Margaret's Church. The children learned about the history of the tower and were shocked to discover that it is almost 1,500 years old! What a fantastic week Fern Class!
