In Maths we have started looking at quarters. Last week we learnt that a whole is an amount or object that has not been split into parts. We completed a range of activities to find half of objects and amounts. Today we looked at how to find a quarter by finding half of a shape and then cutting each half into half again which gave us four equal quarters. We now know that to cut a shape into quarters we need to split it into four equal parts.
We practiced practically cutting shapes into quarters, making sure that all parts were equal.
Today, Iris Class have come to school as everyday heroes! Each child and adult has chosen to dress up as an everyday hero as a tribute to those who worked hard throughout the pandemic. We have doctors, nurses, carers, police officers, vets, teachers, cleaners, builders and even an undercover detective! Well done Iris Class!
Iris Class made some beautiful badges in honour of their everyday heroes! Just look at them wearing them proudly :)
