We were excited to welcome Lisa from East London Waste for a special assembly in honour of Recycling Week, with the theme "Rescue Me!" Lisa taught us about the importance of recycling and how it helps protect the environment. We learned how recycling reduces waste, conserves natural resources, and cuts down on pollution. By recycling, we can all play a part in making the planet healthier for future generations. The assembly was a great reminder of how small actions, like sorting our waste and reusing materials, can have a big impact on the environment. Let’s all do our part to “rescue” the Earth by recycling more!

Our Year 2 students had an exciting time during their Forest School activities, exploring the hidden wonders of nature right around our school grounds. The children discovered plants, insects, and other wildlife, learning about the natural environment and the importance of looking after it. Through hands-on activities, they engaged with nature, sparking curiosity and a sense of adventure. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with the outdoors and deepen their understanding of the world around them!

Year 2 conducted a science experiment to learn why washing hands with soap and warm water is important. The children made predictions and tested different methods—just water, cold water, and warm soapy water. They discovered that soap and warm water work best to remove germs, reinforcing the importance of good hand hygiene!
