Week beginning 3rd February 2025
This week, we have been taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week, exploring the theme "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself." We joined a live assembly to learn about the importance of looking after our mental well-being and how self-awareness helps us grow. Throughout the week, we have focused on being mindful, expressing our feelings, and encouraging open conversations about mental health. By understanding ourselves better, we can build resilience and support one another. Let’s continue to nurture our minds and well-being every day! 💙🌱
This week, Year 2 have been enjoying The Bee Who Spoke by Al MacCuish. Inspired by the wonderful song in the book about the importance of bees, the children became buzzing lyricists, writing their own verses to the tune of Frère Jacques. Through their lyrics, they explored the vital role of bees in nature and why we must protect them. A fantastic mix of creativity, music, and learning—well done, Year 2!

To mark Internet Safety Day, Year 2 took part in a fantastic workshop led by the incredible 2 Johns, who taught us all about how to stay safe online. The children learned the importance of protecting personal information, recognising tricky situations, and always speaking to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right. Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, the workshop helped our pupils understand how to enjoy the internet safely and responsibly. A big thank you to the 2 Johns for empowering our children with these essential skills—an important lesson for the digital world we live in! 🌍💻
