Week beginning 4th November 2024
In Year 2, we have begun our "Prophecy & Promise" topic in Religious Education by exploring the story of the Annunciation. We started by reading this important Bible passage, then took a closer look at Elizabeth Wang's inspiring painting of the Annunciation. After discussing the symbolism and details in her work, we reflected deeply and created our own interpretations of this powerful moment.
In Year 2, we have been reading *How to Find Gold* by Viviane Schwarz. Using pictures, we worked together to sequence the story, helping us understand the adventure step-by-step!
Year 2 had an amazing day at Eastbrookend Country Park! We started with pond dipping, discovering a variety of pond creatures, and enjoyed birdwatching, spotting coots and swans. In the woodland area, we closed our eyes to listen to the different sounds around us—it was so peaceful! We even built habitats for our 'happy hedgehogs,' 'cheeky squirrels,'and 'fantastic foxes.' To top it all off, we had a blast in the playground before heading back to school. What a fantastic adventure!
Rose Class had the pleasure of welcoming parents to their class assembly about Remembrance Day. The children shared artwork, reflections and songs to honour and remember those who served. It was a touching tribute and we were grateful to have families join us for this special assembly.
