Week beginning 9th September 2024
In Year 2, we’ve begun an exciting journey exploring the topic of Creation and Covenant in Religious Education. Our first lessons have focused on New Beginnings, where we reflected on the story of Noah's Ark and God's promise.
We began an exciting Gymnastics topic in PE where we focussed on linking movements with a forward roll.
We have been reading Mr. Underbed by Chris Riddell. We have spent time this week learning about the story, sequencing part of the story and story mapping. We ended the week with an exciting hot-seating activity of Mr. Underbed himself!
In Maths, we have been recalling the work we covered in Year 1 on place value and have been moving our learning on to partitioning numbers to 100. The children have used place value charts and part whole models to achieve this. Well done Year 2! Excellent start to the academic year!
