Week beginning 14th June 2021: During our local area week we used chrome books to research Barking. We created fact files as well as biographies and non-chronological reports about Eva Hart and Bobby Moore
The children were excited to be part of a science experiment on what foods stain their teeth and will be noting their observations for a few days.
Week beginning 7th June 2021 - In English, the children have been reading a book on ‘CharlottesWeb’. They enjoyed enacting the character ‘Fern’,who strongly stood against her father about hurting a pig.
We had a fantastic day today visiting our local area. We learnt about the history of transport in Barking from the boats that used the river Roding to the trains and trams that took people in and out of our area.
Week beginning 24th May 2021 - In RSHE children have been learning to keep themselves safe. Children were given different scenarios and made to enact how they should react in different situations to keep themselves safe in the world.
In History, children have been learning about Anglo-Saxons, Picts and Scots. The children used clay to make Pictish stone carving and wrote their name in Ogham, alphabets used by the Picts.
Week beginning 17th May 2021 - As a part of Creative Week, children took part in several activities. They dressed up as “Our COVID heroes”, designed stamps, made collages, Banksy art work and wrote acrostic poems. It was great to see how our heroes have played a vital role in our children’s lives.
In Maths children have been learning about 'Statistics', they learnt about different types of graphs and understood its importance.
