This week, the children in Cherry Tree Class wrote beautiful independent setting descriptions about the rainforest, using a model text from Pugs of the Frozen North. In geography, they learned how to use four-figure grid references to read a map, and then how to use a compass to navigate. In maths, our division and multiplication skills are being used in context, and in history, we learned about the arrival of the Iron Age in Britain, and the mastery of the Celts. The children of St Joseph's had a fantastic visit from some members of Rom Skate Park on Tuesday, who told us all about their facility and demonstrated some very cool tricks, and the Met Police visited on Thursday to talk about staying safe in the community and to answer the children's questions about what their job is like. The week was rounded of with a Jubilee Celebration, a mass with Father Paul, and some lovely celebration activities, including making thank you cards for our local health care workers. Well done Cherry Tree Class!
