Healthy Schools
At St. Joseph's Catholic School, we believe a healthy school is one that promotes both physical and mental well-being at all times. We continue to support families with useful advice in terms of healthy packed lunches, balanced food served each day and access to healthy snacks throughout the school day. From recent media coverage there is an increasing concern about rising rates of obesity, tooth decay and related health problems in children. As a school, it is part of our responsibility to keep our children well informed about the dangers of an unhealthy lifestyle. This is why we actively promote tooth hygiene and have recently joined the 'Teeth for Life' campaign in EYFS to promote healthy habits early on.
