Speech and Language Link 

At St Joseph's we use Speech and Language link to assess children with speech and language difficulties. The programme is an online media package to support pupils from 4 - 11 with speech and language difficulties. All children who enter the school at reception age are assessed using the programme in the Autumn term. When children are identified as needing a speech and language intervention, a group will be set up in the classroom following the programme and strategies recommended by Speech Link. In some cases, a referral to the schools Speech Therapist will be made. 

Older children in the school are assessed on a needs basis, and where identified as having a speech and language need, an intervention will be put into place following the programme and strategies from Speech Link.
