This week, Cherry Tree class used lots of tactile resources to represent flexible partitioning in maths, which supported their understanding of multiplying and dividing 2-digit numbers. To work towards their narrative writing, the children discussed what the emotions and detail they could include in each scene of Ruskin’s confrontation with Krindlekrax, then acted them out, discussing how they had built on the role-plays they organised last week. They used this information to begin writing their narratives today. It was energy saving week this week, and the children had a guest speaker from the local area deliver an assembly about new, eco-friendly energy systems in Barking. In RE, the children analysed the Our Father and created a poster to explain its meaning to younger children. Finally, in computing, the children learned about branching databases and how different groups of data can be organised. What a busy week!
