Week beginning 5th January

Year 2 have been enjoying the story The Bee Who Spoke by Al MacCuish. After reading the book, the children took part in a fun and creative role-play activity to sequence and retell the story. They worked in groups to act out key events, bringing the characters and their adventures to life. This helped them deepen their understanding of the story and practise their speaking and listening skills in an engaging way.

Year 2 gathered in the school hall to celebrate the Epiphany with Father Paul. It was a beautiful and meaningful service where the children reflected on the visit of the Wise Men and the significance of this special day in the Christian calendar. Father Paul shared an inspiring message about the gifts we can offer through kindness and love. The pupils participated reverently, joining in prayers and hymns, making it a truly memorable occasion for everyone.

Year 2 have started an exciting new Geography topic on coastlines! The children have been learning about the seas and oceans that surround the United Kingdom, discovering their names and locations on maps. They explored why coastlines are important and how they shape our country. This topic will help them understand the connection between land and water, and the role these seas play in our environment and daily life.
