What an exhilarating week it has been for Year 6! In English, we delved into the intriguing world of myths, pushing ourselves to retell a classic tale infused with vibrant figurative language and characterised speech. The creativity displayed by our students was truly impressive as they crafted narratives that brought the myths to life.
Our maths lessons were equally engaging, as we tackled multi-step problems and honed our understanding of the order of operations. The challenges presented allowed us to develop our problem-solving skills further, promoting a collaborative atmosphere where students could support one another.
In Religious Education, we embarked on a fascinating research project focusing on Catholic Scientists. The students passionately explored the contributions of these remarkable individuals and applied their findings to create informative educational posters that beautifully showcased their learnings.
Art continued to flourish as we wrapped up our work on landscapes, encouraging our students to express their creativity through various mediums. Meanwhile, our efforts in computing focused on effective and safe communication, ensuring that our pupils are well equipped for the digital world.
As if that were not enough excitement for one week, we capped it all off with a brilliant trip to the Museum of London Docklands, where students explored the rich history of the area. Additionally, we had a workshop in honour of Ada Lovelace Day celebrating women in technology. On Friday, Oak class shone brightly during their class assembly, demonstrating their hard work and dedication. We are immensely proud of all their achievements this week!
