The first week of Spring 2 has been another busy one for Cherry tree Class. they have put their best foot forward with their new maths topic and have begun to work confidently with fractions, understanding the purpose of the numerator and the denominator, as well as the difference between unit fractions and non-unit fractions. In English, we have started our new text, Oliver and the Seawigs, and the class began their writing pieces by producing an excellent set of instructions about how to pack an 'adventure backpack'. They tried on a backpack we had packed with lots of the essential items and marvelled at how heavy it was, then considered this when they did their instruction writing. In RE, we started a new topic and the children looked at the miracle of the loaves and the fish. We created volcano fact files in geography and and produced excellent graphs in science. We rounded of the week with a sad farewell to Mrs Brennan, our business manager, who received an array of cards made by the children and who we wish all the best.
