In Maths, we continued to build on our knowledge from Year 5, delving into reasoning around the four operations. The students demonstrated impressive problem-solving skills and engaged in thoughtful discussions to justify their answers. In English, we dissected a set of instructions, paying close attention to key elements such as imperative verbs and adverbials of time. The highlight of the week was when Year 6 acted out their instructions through short drama pieces, bringing their learning to life in a creative way!

Our RE lesson was particularly special this week as students created a digital leaflet promoting baptism for parents. They showcased their desktop publishing skills beautifully, producing eye-catching and informative materials.

In PE, we progressed in our netball unit, focusing specifically on tactics to enhance teamwork and strategy on the court. The enthusiasm was palpable! In Science, we explored the remarkable structure and function of the heart, engaging in hands-on activities to understand its vital role in the human body .In History, we analysed the causes and consequences of key events in Britain’s involvement in slavery, fostering important conversations around this significant topic.

Outside the classroom, we were thrilled to experience the Wonderdome, where we learnt about the solar system in an immersive environment. Additionally, we enjoyed delightful cakes during the Macmillan Coffee Morning—thank you to all who contributed!
