The penultimate week of the spring term was a very busy one. The children wrote diary entries from the point of view of Iris the mermaid, put their best foot forward in their maths work on mass and capacity, and learned about the Eucharistic prayers said in mass. They revisited their geography knowledge on compass directions and applied to it new learning about tsunamis, with a focus on the 2004 tsunami caused by an earthquake near the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. We celebrated St Joseph's day with a mass, lots of activities and a fabulous disco run by our resident DJ, Joe Banana. However, as well as all of their curriculum learning and celebrating, the children rehearsed and put together a wonderful St Joseph's day assembly, and sang so beautifully that Mrs Turner asked them to sing their St Joseph song again in our Friday Celebration assembly. Well done Cherry Tree Class!
