Week beginning 30th September 2024
The theme of our Collective Worship this week was Peace. We listened to a reading from John's gospel to remind us that Jesus left us with peace. So if we are worried, sad or upset about anything, we should remember the peace that Jesus gives us.
This week, we began crafting sequels to the story of Mr. Underbed by sparking our imaginations and exploring what could happen next. To bring our ideas to life, we engaged in role-play, acting out our sequel concepts and sharing them with the rest of the class. It was an exciting and creative way to dive deeper into the story and inspire each other with new possibilities for the characters and plot!
This week, our Pupil Voice representatives led the Smart Schools Council meeting, where the focus was on discussing potential school trips for the year. It provided a fantastic opportunity for students to practice active listening and thoughtfully consider the perspectives and ideas shared by their peers. The meeting fostered collaboration and ensured that everyone's voice was heard in shaping our upcoming experiences.
In Year 2 explored the lives of great explorers like Christopher Columbus, Roald Amundsen and Neil Armstrong. Through their incredible journeys, children learnt about courage, discovery and the lasting impact these pioneers had on the world.
