Year 2 put their scientific skills to the test in an exciting experiment to discover the best material for a bag in the rain! They began by making predictions about which materials would be the most waterproof before carrying out a series of tests. By carefully observing how different materials reacted to water, they were able to record their results and draw conclusions about the most effective choice. This hands-on investigation not only developed their understanding of materials and their properties but also encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving. A fantastic example of learning in action!

Our Year 2 students have been buzzing with creativity as they explored alternative endings to The Bee Who Spoke by Al MacCuish! After brainstorming ideas, they used story maps to plan their new endings before carefully writing their own versions of the story’s conclusion.  This exciting project encouraged them to think imaginatively, develop their storytelling skills, and consider different possibilities for Belle’s adventure. The results were fantastic, with each child bringing their own unique twist to the tale. Well done, Year 2!

Year 2 had great fun playing a maths game that challenged their knowledge of doubling and halving! Through interactive and engaging activities, they worked together to solve problems, think strategically, and apply their mathematical skills in a fun and practical way.  The game helped to build confidence with numbers while encouraging teamwork and quick thinking. It was fantastic to see the children so enthusiastic about maths—well done, Year 2!
