Week beginning 13th January 2025

Year 2 have been hard at work using iPads to research fascinating facts about bees! The children explored topics such as how bees live, their role in pollination, and why they are so important to our environment.

This research will help them prepare for writing their non-chronological reports next week. Fantastic work, Year 2—we can’t wait to see your reports take shape! 🐝✨

During Collective Worship, Year 2 reflected on the story of John the Baptist from Luke 3: 2-6. The children learned about his important role as a prophet, preparing the way for Jesus and preaching the message of "making paths straight" for the Lord.

Through this reflection, the children thought about how they can prepare their own hearts for Jesus and live in a way that spreads kindness and love. It was a meaningful time of prayer and discussion, helping the children grow in their faith and understanding.

In Science, Year 2 have been investigating the fascinating topic of Uses of Materials. The children explored how materials can be changed by bending, twisting, squashing, and stretching, discovering how different materials respond to these forces.

This hands-on learning has helped them understand how materials are used in everyday life and why certain properties make them suitable for specific purposes. Well done, Year 2, for your curiosity and enthusiasm!
