As part of our D&T topic, Year 2 had an exciting educational visit to Pizza Express in Upminster! We learned all about the fresh ingredients that go into making their delicious pizzas and even had the chance to create our very own scrumptious pizzas. After just five minutes in the oven, they were cooked to perfection! Back at school, we celebrated with a mini pizza party, tasting a slice of our handmade creations. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that combined learning with lots of fun (and tasty bites)! 🍕

In class, we used role play to sequence and story map our new book, The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Acting out the different characters and events helped us understand the story’s journey as the postman delivered letters to famous fairy-tale characters. Through drama and storytelling, we explored the plot in a fun and interactive way, making it easier to remember and retell. What an exciting way to bring our book to life!

We were thrilled to welcome Olympic medalist and 400m athlete Victoria Ohuruogu to our school for an inspiring assembly! She shared her incredible athletics journey, from training to competing on the world stage, motivating us to work hard and chase our dreams. Before the assembly, we took part in a fun and energetic 10-minute fitness session with Victoria, getting our hearts pumping and muscles moving. It was an unforgettable experience that left us feeling inspired, active, and ready to embrace a healthy lifestyle! 🏅
