Week beginning 7th January 2025
Year 2 Exploring Money in Maths!
This week, our Year 2 mathematicians have been diving into the exciting world of money! They’ve been learning how to identify and count coins and notes in both pounds (£) and pence (p). Through hands-on activities and real-life scenarios, the children have been developing their skills in adding up amounts, comparing values, and even making change.
It’s been wonderful to see their confidence growing as they work with money—a valuable life skill that will help them in many ways!
Bringing "The Bee Who Spoke" to Life! 🐝
This week, the children have been exploring the enchanting story of The Bee Who Spoke by Al MacCuish. Through sequencing activities, they’ve delved into the adventures of Belle and her magical bee friend, learning to retell the story in the correct order.
To make the tale truly come alive, the children also took part in role-playing key moments, stepping into the shoes (and wings!) of the characters. It’s been a wonderful way to build their storytelling skills, creativity, and understanding of this heartwarming tale about nature and discovery.
