Year 3 Trip to Soanes Centre
Year 3 students went on an educational visit to the Soanes Centre, where they participated in a workshop focused on wild flowers. During the visit, they took a walk through Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park to observe various types of plant life. The students learned about the importance and characteristics of wild flowers and plants, as well as observing and classifying different habitats. The engaging session was led by an amazing instructor who answered all their burning questions. Students were fascinated by the variety of smells produced by different wild plants and enjoyed identifying them while chatting with each other. They also saw the largest tombstone in the cemetery and learned about famous individuals buried there, such as Dr. Rees Ralph Llewellyn, the surgeon who performed the autopsies on Jack the Ripper's victims, and Charles Jamrach, a Victorian animal collector. It was a fun day where students saw their learning come to life, leaving with a wealth of knowledge about wild plants. What an exciting trip!
