Year 6 have had a fantastic week of learning across the curriculum. In English, the children have been producing some excellent non-chronological reports about Basilisks, inspired by Fantastic Beasts by J.K. Rowling. Their writing showcased impressive research skills, ambitious vocabulary and detailed descriptions.
In Science, we explored the flow of blood through the heart in a fun and interactive way. Using balloons and PE equipment to represent different parts of the heart, pupils acted out the journey of blood around the body, helping to bring this complex process to life.
In Maths, Year 6 have worked extremely hard on place value, developing their understanding of numbers up to 10,000,000 and exploring the value of digits within larger numbers.
We also enjoyed a fantastic workshop with CJ from Billingsgate Market. The children had great fun learning about the importance of fish in our diet and how it can support brain health. The session was engaging, informative and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Well done, Year 6, for another week of enthusiastic learning and excellent effort! 🌟
