Year 6 returned from the half-term break sharp, focused and ready to learn! In English, we began exploring Pig Heart Boy, unpicking Cameron’s emotional journey and recognising that feelings do not always follow a straightforward path. Pupils used freeze frames to explore key moments before beginning to plan their diary entries. In Maths, we launched our fractions topic, finding equivalent fractions, placing fractions on number lines and comparing their values. Our new Geography topic, Our Changing World, saw pupils describing and locating some of the Earth’s geographical features. In RE, we explored the contributions and importance of women in the Bible, while PE provided further opportunities to develop leadership skills through giving clear, precise instructions. What an amazing first week back; well done, Year 6!
