Our students had the wonderful opportunity to attend the unveiling of a restored fragment of Barking’s 18th-century workhouse at Abbey Green. The plaque, the only surviving remnant of the Georgian workhouse, gave pupils a fascinating insight into Barking’s history. At St. Joseph’s, we are proud to help children learn about the people who came before us and the importance of preserving our local heritage.
