Year 6 Educational Visit to The British Library
Year 6 ventured out to The British Library for an educational visit today. On arrival, we were shown precious ancient texts that had genuine golden covers - these would have been given as gifts to monarchs of the past. Our guide then accompanied us to the learning room, where we learned about the art of ancient map making. We particularly focussed our efforts on 'The Ancient Mappe of Fairyland' by Bernard Sleigh. We research why map making was important and used old pictures and artefacts to research this map. We then discussed the best way to present our research; and decided whether online publication or print publications were the most effective form of present results.
