Week beginning 5.5.2026
In our Portraits and Poses unit, Year 2 pupils explored the art of portrait drawing by observing and sketching one another. Using PXLR.com, children learned how to capture different facial features, expressions, and poses. They experimented with line, shape, and proportion to create detailed and imaginative portraits, building confidence in both their artistic skills and their ability to represent people in unique and creative ways.
In Religious Education, Year 2 pupils have been learning about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and what they mean in our everyday lives. The children explored values such as love, kindness, patience, and self-control, discussing how these qualities can help us to treat others with care and respect. Through stories, discussions, and creative activities, pupils have reflected on how they can show these virtues in their actions and relationships.
As part of our special celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, Year 2 became nature narrators, inspired by his calm and thoughtful storytelling style. The children carefully observed plants and small creatures such as flowers, bees, and ants, taking time to notice the smallest details in the natural world around them.
