Week beginning 20.4.2026
This week, the children have been using Hungry Monsters with three mouths to help them find one third of numbers. They enjoyed exploring how to share amounts equally between the three mouths and showed great confidence and understanding of finding thirds.
As part of our Poses and Portraits art topic, the children have been drawing portraits of each other. They worked with great focus and care, paying close attention to facial features and showing excellent detail in their drawings. We were very impressed with their creativity and observational skills.
This week in RE, the children explored the story of Pentecost through art. They carefully analysed a painting of Pentecost by religious artist Elizabeth Wang, discussing its symbols, colours and meaning. Inspired by what they observed, the children then spent time creating their own versions of the scene, using the original artwork to guide their ideas and creativity.
