In our Magnificent Monarchs topic, children begin their exciting journey into learning about kings and queens from the past. They will explore key vocabulary such as monarch, crown, throne, and palace, helping them to understand what a monarch is and the important role they played in history. Through stories, discussions, and fun activities, children build their historical knowledge and language skills while developing curiosity about life long ago.

In Year 2, children take part in hot seating activities using characters from The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. By exploring the thoughts, actions, and feelings of key characters, pupils develop deeper understanding, rich vocabulary, and strong speaking and listening skills.
