  • WWF Live Lesson - International Polar Bear Day

    Thu 27 Feb 2025

This morning, Year 6 used their knowledge of the Arctic, gained from our Geography topic, to engage with a live lesson provided by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) in honour of International Polar Bear Day. Year 6 used their enquiry skills to make links between impacts on polar bears - for example, reductions in parts of the food chain - and conservation of the species. We learned about the adaptations of the species to their environments and factors that are contributing to population changes in the Arctic. The running message of conservation resonated with Year 6, as they continue to understand the localised impacts we can have on climate change and how this in turn can impact species like polar bears.

They learned all about the fresh ingredients that go into making their delicious pizzas and even had the chance to create their very own scrumptious pizzas. After just five minutes in the oven, they were cooked to perfection! Back at school, they celebrated with a mini pizza party, tasting a slice of their handmade creations. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that combined learning with lots of fun!

  • Great Athletes visit from Victoria Ohuruogu

    Mon 24 Feb 2025

The children had a fantastic afternoon completing a mini sports circuit with Olympian Victoria Ohuruogu and her 'Sportivator,' Nicola. They cheered each other on and had an amazing time. This was followed by an inspiring assembly, led by Victoria, in which she spoke about her journey to become an Olympic athlete, and the patience and perseverance her journey required. The children were so excited to see footage of her qualifying to represent Great Britain, and were even lucky enough to be shown the bronze medal Victoria won in the 400m relay at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

  • Whole School Mass Celebrates Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope

    Wed 12 Feb 2025

Our school community came together in a spirit of unity and faith for a special Whole School Mass to celebrate the Jubilee Year 2025, embracing the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” This meaningful event allowed children, staff, and families to reflect on the importance of hope, renewal, and our shared journey of faith. Through prayer, song, and reflection, we were reminded of the power of hope to guide us through life’s challenges and to inspire positive change in our world. The Mass was a beautiful expression of our school’s commitment to walking together as Pilgrims of Hope, carrying forward the message of love, compassion, and community.

  • CST in action British Red Cross Cake Sale

    Wed 12 Feb 2025

Our recent school cake sale was a sweet success! Organised by the Mini Vinnies, who live by their inspiring motto “See, Think, Do,” the event brought together the generosity and baking talents of our students, staff, and families. Thanks to their hard work and the support of our school community, we raised an impressive amount to help the British Red Cross support those affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. The cake sale not only showcased our community's compassion but also highlighted the power of taking action for a worthy cause. Every cupcake, brownie, and slice of cake contributed to making a real difference in the lives of those in need. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and donated—your support is truly appreciated!

  • Children's Mental Health Week 2025

    Fri 07 Feb 2025

Children's Mental Health Week 2025 took place from 3-9 February.

The theme for 2025 was Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, with the aim to equip and empower children to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them. We want children to discover how getting to know who they are can help them build resilience, grow and develop.

Our children attended an online webinar to learn the importance of Mental Health and different ways to take care of themselves. The pupil voice children organised lunch time events, like colouring, reading and yoga. Our children also made flowers to display how they took pride in themselves.
