  • Year 2 RNLI visit

    Wed 22 Mar 2023

To conclude their coastlines topic, Year 2 had an action packed visit to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Southend on Sea. The day was full of adventures and learning. For many children (and teachers), it was their first time travelling on the pier railway to get to the lifeboat station. After the railway ride, the children were greeted by the volunteers who taught then many facts about what they do, and how to stay safe at the coast. Mrs Tomlinson dressed up in the special suit, but it was a bit big for her. It was a windy but fun day for everyone.

  • St. Joseph’s Feast Day Celebrations

    Mon 20 Mar 2023

We celebrated our patron saint St. Joseph today. As St. Joseph was the patron saint of workers, children were invited to wear costumes as the careers they aspire to be. We had doctors, police officers, teachers, fire fighters and many more! We spent the morning learning about the life of St. Joseph and his important role in Jesus’ life. We gathered as a school community with some of our parents at St. Mary and St. Ethelburga Catholic Church to celebrate our patron Saint during mass. It was a wonderful way to give thanks to St. Joseph for this continuous blessings and guidance. In the afternoon, EYFS and KS1 parents were invited in to school for an arts and crafts afternoon. Children made paper lilies to remember St. Joseph with their parents. While the whole school rounded up the day with a special assembly, parents were able to gather for tea and coffee for their own little St. Joseph’s Day celebration.

  • Stories in different Languages

    Wed 01 Mar 2023

Today the children had a very different kind of reading, not there usual story telling day. The children were fortunate enough to have some wonderful parents who kindly offered to read to the children a book of their choice in their own language. The children really enjoyed this as it was a whole different experience.

Thank you to the wonderful parents who kindly volunteered to come and read to the children in their languages.
