  • Helping Hands

    Mon 31 Oct 2022

The school is looking a lot more vibrant after we had some lovely helping hands. We had over 15 workers on site painting the outside of the school and I hope you’ll all agree it looks so much brighter!

We are extremely grateful and happy to have had them!

  • Visit from The 2 Johns

    Thu 20 Oct 2022

The children had a visit from The 2 Johns.

The session focused on the children’s online activities, such as gaming, their use of social media and the effect these can have on their mental health.

The children were encouraged to be aware of the nature of the possible threats that they could encounter whilst engaging in activity through the Internet; these could be security threats, protecting and managing your personal data and avoiding harmful or illegal content.

They also covered more sensitive areas such as online reputation management, the possible exposure to indecent images and the accidental creation of indecent images, through their usage.

The children were given advise on how to deal with these sensitive topics. But above all they were encouraged to discuss any concerns and issues they may encounter with the trusted adults in their lives.

The children found the session eye-opening and informative.

  • One Million Children Praying the Rosary

    Tue 18 Oct 2022

Today, St. Joseph’s along with many other schools across the globe, took part in a very important worldwide prayer initiative called ‘One Million Children, Praying the Rosary’. It was organised by the Aid to the Church in Need (ACN International). The main aim of the initiative is to show that the trusting prayer of children can fly straight to the heart of God and therefore has such great power. It was wonderful to see the children of St. Joseph's meditating upon the mysteries of the Holy Rosary with such reverence.

  • Catholic Social Teaching Parent Workshop - CAFOD

    Mon 17 Oct 2022

We were very lucky to have David Brinn from CAFOD in school today to deliver an insightful Catholic Social Teaching (CST) parent workshop. He also brought in some wonderful knitted CST characters such as Luc the Dear, Chikonde the Giraffe and Patariki the Penguin.

Parents were able to discuss the CST Principles and apply them to real life situations. For parents who were unable to attend this brilliant workshop, please see the resources shared by David Brinn under the Catholic Life tab on our school website.

  • Movie Night

    Thu 13 Oct 2022

Movie night was an AMAZING turn out!

The children really enjoyed being together in the main hall for Movie Night. It was the perfect setting to get cosy with their friends and eat popcorn whilst watching a movie all together as a family. It's safe to say they had a great time.
