  • Trip to Lords

This year we have been working with Essex County Cricket. They have been in school to provide coaching to our children. As part of this we were lucky enough to be nominated to take part in their chance to shine project. 30 children in year 5 got to spend the day at Lords and have coaching from high profile cricket players including Mark Nicholas, Beth Moore and Georgia Adams. It was a very exciting day, the children also got a behind the scenes tour of the grounds and spent some time at the newly built media centre.

  • Year 6 Celebration Week - Bowling and Park

    Wed 06 Jul 2022

On Tuesday, Year 6 continued their celebration week with a trip to Stratford for some bowling! After a bit of a walk, we caught two trains and made our way to All Star Lanes in Westfield.  The adults were ‘bowled over’ with the children’s skills!

After we’d finished, we rehydrated with some fancy milkshakes, collected our things and headed back out on the road. We stopped for a picnic outside the West Ham stadium and had a quick play in the playground before retracing our steps back to school.

  • Local Area Walk - Reception

    Fri 17 Jun 2022

Reception went on a walk around the local area on Friday to visit Bobby Moore Way and Barking Abbey Park. They have been learning about famous people from the area, so they were thrilled to learn that Bobby Moore had a road named after him. During the walk, the children were able to spot all the different features in our local area of Barking.

  • Junior Citizens

    Thu 16 Jun 2022

On Monday Year 6 were lucky enough to take part in a series of workshops provided by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham alongside multiple public services which included the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and TFL.

The children took part in different scenarios which gave them the opportunity to learn some invaluable life skills; such as how to react in the event of a fire in the home, identify if an offensive weapon is being carried, conduct themselves on public transport and how to check their bikes before leaving home to name a few.

All of the children had an enjoyable afternoon and remarked about how informative they found the sessions.
