National Numeracy Day
Wed 17 May 2023National Numeracy Day had our number!
We had a fantastic day filled with number-related activities. Children divided into groups to make their way to the top of the charts in a numeracy rapping challenge. There was a lot to take away from the Strictly dance challenge, that used numeracy to step in time. In addition to all this fun, children took part in Bobby Seagull's numbers quiz. Then, we all had to multiply our efforts to enter the National Numeracy Day competition. This involved drawing a picture of ourselves in our dream jobs an explaining how numeracy and numbers are so important for that job.
All of these activities = A great time had by all.

May Procession 2023
Wed 17 May 2023The month of May is dedicated to Our Blessed Lady, Mary our Mother. During this month, Christians both in church and at home, offer up to Mary from their hearts an especially fervent and loving homage of prayer and veneration.
Today, the children, staff and parents of St. Joseph's honoured Mary our Mother during our whole school annual May Procession. Our Pupil Chaplains read prayers that they had written about Mary to the whole school and a crown of flowers were placed on Mary's head. During the procession, each child in the school was able to lay a flower at Mary's feet with a prayer intention attached as a way of honouring Mary.

Rosary Club
Wed 17 May 2023Each week during the month of May, we honour Mary Our Mother during Rosary Club. Children gather in our prayer room and set their own prayer intentions for the rosary. We then proceed to say one or two decades of the rosary together. It is a wonderful time for the children to deepen their faith and pray together.

Visit to the British Museum
Fri 05 May 2023As a part of our Educational trip on Ancient Egypt, the children visited the British Museum. They looked at the beautiful artefacts from Egypt which enriched their knowledge about Egyptian history, culture, people and many other interesting things. The Egyptian objects told them a story of life and death in the ancient Nile Valley. They also attended a presentation to explore the famous tomb-painting of Nebamun hunting in the marshes. On the whole the children along with the adults enjoyed their trip to the British Museum.

TOP HITS from the Past
Fri 05 May 2023In todays assembly, each class performed a song from a different decade of King Charles's life.
This definitely had all the children buzzing and even the adults were completely in their element! There were moves going, singing on key and just amazing performances from all the children. The children really enjoyed this and the assembly was a success!
The children looked very royal in their crowns, waving their flags and singing from the top of their voices which is just how we do things here at St Josephs!
The energy was through the roof and the children were very much ready for their long Bank Holiday weekend!
