Autumn 2

For our innovative geography project, we classified the settlement of Barking and decided it’s a town.

For our innovative project in science, we applied our knowledge of forces and mechanisms to create some top tips for cyclists.

In D&T, we’ve been designing and making our own moving mechanisms.

In science, we’ve been investigating friction. Have a look at our experiment into the effect of friction on distance travelled.

In computing, we’ve been recording, editing and sharing our own videos!

In geography, we’ve been doing map work including locating 6 figure grid references and relative locations.

This week we were lucky enough to join an online workshop about space. We then got to make Christmas themed planets.

Today we had the chance to learn about planets using virtual reality!

In English today we used our senses to create a vocabulary bank for our writing.

This week, Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to take part in a workshop 'The Blitz through Connie's eyes' ran by the Museum of London. The children got to learn all about the Blitz and experience what it would have been like to live at that time.
