This week has been a busy one for Cherry Tree class. On Monday afternoon, Year 3 went to Brking library for a local area visit. They browsed the books, enjoyed the space with their selections, and some children used their library cards to take books home. Throughout the week, the children have built up their plans for a diary entry, and produced some fantastic work when they put their plans into action on Friday! In maths, the children have consolidated their multiplication and division learning, and have worked in pairs to solve word problems involving these skills. We had a visit from Canon Young, the priest at our local church, St Ethelburga's. He spoke to us about visitors, and the importance of Advent as a time of waiting in the lead up to Christmas. The week was rounded off with a visit from Pro Strike, a sports initiative that the children were very eager to participate in. They had three chances to kick a ball into a net that recorded the speed of their kick. They all had a fantastic time, and, together, St Joseph's raised over £1000! An incredible end to an incredible week!
