In the run up to Christmas, Cherry Tree class has been incredibly busy, fitting in lots of Christmas themed activities with their curriculum learning. They have worked together to complete lots of investigative maths challenges, using their multiplication tables knowledge to aid them in their success. The children have analysed primary data and learned to use compasses in geography, which they then used to find the northern most point inside the building.  On Wednesday, the children of St Joseph's had an incredible experience using VR headsets, and they consolidated their learning on mini beasts with an interactive session where they got up close to the tiny creatures, and learned lots of amazing new facts about them! They have hot seated characters from their English text, Pugs of the Frozen North, to prepare for their newspaper article, and then hot seated the Three Wise Men for their RE lesson about the visitation at the birth of Jesus. The children went to mass to observe the Holy Day of Obligation for the Annunciation, and, when they returned, they jumped straight back into their learning to make Celtic warrior shields for history. On top of all that, they enjoyed Christmas jumper day, Christmas dinner, and had an absolute blast at the school disco! What a week!
