Another action-packed week for Cherry Tree Class! They investigated how Stone Age weapons changed between the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic eras, and acted out using some of the tools that prehistoric people would have mastered as part of their day to day lives. In RE, we talked about Paul's letter to the Colossian's, and acted out different ways that we too could be holy people. Cherry Tree class carried out a science investigation into the fat content of common snack foods, and were really surprised to discover that vegetable crisps had the highest fat content of the selection we investigated. Our art focus this week was looking at the use of colour in the work of various artists. The children compared the pieces and discussed what they liked and what they felt when they looked at each image. They worked in pairs to talk about the effects that the use of colour had on the audience. Then, they each took one of the images home to discuss with their families and to keep. All in all, a fantastic week!
