Year 2 showcased an array of fantastic costumes for World Book Day 2024. We immersed ourselves in lively discussions, sharing insights about our chosen characters and our most beloved books.
We performed ‘Eat your words’ by Benjamin Zephaniah in a special assembly in front of the whole school. We worked hard to learn and recite all the words with confidence.
As a highlight of our Book Week festivities, Year 1 and 2 embarked on a thrilling journey to the Discover Story Centre in Stratford. Boarding The Box Rocket, we voyaged through the cosmos on an extraordinary intergalactic escapade to an enchanting planet. Commander Dapo entrusted us with a vital quest – to reignite the mystical Story Stone and restore magic to the planet. The interactive exhibition sparked joy and excitement, igniting the children's imaginations as they immersed themselves in the adventure!
Year 1 and 2 children had an exciting opportunity to engage in the LEAF 'Working on a Farm' workshop led by Farmer Dan. With enthusiasm, Farmer Sam guided us through a dairy farm, highlighting the intricacies unique to this type of farming, while also drawing comparisons to arable farming. His insights provided valuable knowledge about the diverse roles and responsibilities of a farmer. This workshop aimed to deepen our understanding of the farming profession and encouraged us to contemplate if farming might be a future career path worth exploring when we grow up.
