WOW WORK

Josephine Pokuah

This week, in English, Year 6 started to learn about how to write detailed sequenced instructions. They worked together to form a word bank of imperative (bossy) verbs, that would be useful towards their final piece of writing. Year 6 also took an opportunity to design their own fearsome 'fantastic beast' to base their escape instructions on. There were some truly incredible, creative ideas!

In Maths, Year 6 continued their learning into the four operations. They investigated the rules of divisibility, and also solve problems with prime, square and cube numbers.

In our RE learning, we came to the end of our 'loving' topic. We spent a session sharing what we had learned about God's unconditional love and how we can take that message forward in our own lives. The children also wrote letters to Mrs Lumber to explain how we feel this message exists at St Joseph's and how as Year 6 children in the school, they can pass that message on to younger children.

In Science, Year 6 continued to learn about the circulatory system. This week our focus was on the function and components of blood. Year 6 enjoyed investigating a mock up sample of separated blood, before researching the individual components and their uses to our bodies.
