An amazing start to the second half of the Spring Term!. Cherry Tree class started the week by completing a research project on different types of volcanoes and their significant eruptions. The children used different sources to collate the information into a report. In maths, the children started learning about fractions, and began to compare unit and non unit fractions. They all agreed they would rather have half a cake than a quarter of a cake! In English, we wrote some instructions on what to pack in your backpack when you're going on an adventure. The children had lots of fun examining the contents of the adventure backpack that Miss Pierre and I packed! In PE, Year 3 worked on their throwing technique and had a great time aiming their overarm throws at a target. In science, we completed an investigation about forces, and measured how many Newtons were required to pull Mr Campbell's trainers across different surfaces. The children had a fantastic time using Newton metres and recording their results in a graph. Great work Cherry Tree class!
