Exciting, Fun-filled Learning Continues!

What an amazing week the students had as they engaged in a variety of learning. Every morning, we begin with Shared Reading sessions where we read and discuss a book together. Our current book, Fantastic Mr. Fox, has been a hit! Some students even asked their parents to buy the book so that they could continue to read it at home. 

In Art and Design, students were introduced to the principles of the warm, cool, tertiary, analogous and complementary colour families. They had a go at mixing these colours and recording the colour category in their sketchbooks. The journey towards maths mastery continued with self-guided pair work on exchanges in place value, which they enjoyed. In R.E. we discussed rules for a happy home and the importance of showing love and care. A discussion about the foods we eat was done for Science and a balanced diet was introduced. 

As this was National Coding Week, a fun and informative lesson was delivered where students were introduced to AI and explored how training data is used to enable machine learning. Each student programmed their AI to recognise patterns and improve its performance.  

We explored descriptive writing using the five senses to describe the main parts of our story GORILLA for our English lesson. At the end of the week, we took students outside of the classroom to act out Hannah's journey to the zoo. One student said this was the best English lesson!
