Week beginning 2/10/2023
Year 2 have been learning about significant individuals from our local history. They learnt about the life and work of Captain James Cook. Today, Year 2 had the opportunity to visit St. Margarets’s Church in Barking Abbey. This church was a very important part of Captain James Cook’s history as he married his wife Elizabeth Batts there 260 years ago in 1762. It was a brilliant way for us to feel part of our local history.
We have been recapping the appropriate use of capital letters and full stops. We were able to spot errors and correct them ourselves.
In Science, we have been discussing the importance of a healthy balanced diet and exercise. We took part in an exercise challenge that we will continue for the next 10 days! We will see if we will get better at the exercises by the time we get to day 10.
We have been recapping number bonds to 10 and have been using this knowledge to go over our number bonds to 20.
