What a week! The children at St Joseph's raised awareness for anti-bullying on Monday by wearing odd socks to school. They absolutely smashed their academic work this week, consolidating their multiplication and division knowledge, working towards writing a diary entry using expanded nouns phrases and fronted adverbials and learning about the Beaker people, a British population from the Bronze Age! We visited the Travelling Book Fair, which was hosted at St Joseph's this week, and our Pupil Voice led a class assembly for the anti-bullying campaign, as well as a school wide assembly to choose a winner for the Anti-Bullying Poster competition. The winner from Cherry Tree class was Inabel! As if that wasn't enough, the children created incredible firework art by flicking paint at black paper, using toothbrushes instead of paint brushes. Perhaps most impressive of all, the children of Year 3 had their first cooking lesson, in which they prepped cooked and ate potatoes and a tomato and onion sauce. They washed, peeled, chopped, seasoned, tested and tasted everything. It was such a fantastic experience. Finally, Friday was non-uniform to raise money for children in need. Everyone looked incredible, and has certainly earned a well deserved rest over the weekend!
