This week, Cherry Tree class embarked on an enriching journey of learning and discovery. Students delved deep into the realm of fractions, honing their understanding of equivalent fractions through engaging activities and hands-on exploration. In English, they eagerly completed their diary entries, using ambitious vocabulary, leaving readers on the edge of their seats with a cliff-hanger. All week, the children were brimming with excitement as St. Joseph’s celebrated World Book Week. Students immersed themselves in a plethora of literary activities, from listening to captivating stories read by teachers, to participating in an exhilarating author's visit. During this visit, the children had the unique opportunity to craft their very own superhero characters, complete with extraordinary superpowers. Adding to the festivities, the children enjoyed a delightful reading picnic, with older children joyfully sharing stories with their younger counterparts from Reception. As the week drew to a close, Cherry Tree class showcased their talents at a Poetry Slam, with every class delivering spellbinding performances of poems by the esteemed poet Benjamin Zephaniah. The applause echoed through the halls as students captivated their audience with their expressive renditions. Congratulations on your exceptional efforts, Cherry Tree!
