Lest We Forget
This week was packed with a lot of exciting events. Students benefited from an Art specialist who taught them how to manipulate paper to make collages - the end goal was a beautiful collage-themed poppy wreath. Building on prior learning, food group proportions for a healthy diet were explored. Students completed their learning on addition and subtraction and finished the week using ambitious vocabulary to write a setting description. In our new focus for Topic: One Planet, One World, they delved into their atlases to locate and describe significant geographical features and made their own stick figure animation in IT. In commemoration of Remembrance Day, the students joined a live assembly to understand its importance and observed two minutes of silence, showing respect to the men and women in the armed forces in Britain and around the world. The collage poppy wreaths which were made, were then placed on the school's Remembrance Day cenotaph display by the students.
