In maths, we’re revisiting fractions. This lesson we were challenged to find and collect different representations of the same fraction, without talking.
In English, we read some real diary entries from 1916 to give us an understanding of what Shackleton’s crew experienced during their Antarctic expedition. We used what we learned to help us write persuasive letters.
In music, we’ve been continuing learning a range of songs on the guitar.
In geography, we’ve revisited using six-figure grid references, this time to locate farms and identify the type of land use based on the topography.
In PE, we have been playing some basketball related games to use the skills we have learned.
This week, we took part in the Big Garden Bird Watch.
For Energy Saving Week, we designed our own eco-friendly school buildings.
In RE, we discussed how the apostles had different approaches to spreading God’s love and how difficulties can be resolved through prayer. We then worked in teams to piece ourselves together to realise that while every person can have a different role in Jesus’ mission, we’re all equally important.
In music, we’ve been learning to play the glockenspiel and even performed the Three Note Bossa.
In science, we have been learning the characteristics of mammals and using these to classify different vertebrates.
In geography, we explored seasonality and created our own timetables for allotment growth to ensure crops grow all year round.
In English, we created a range of freeze frames to show parts of the story ‘Ice Trap!’.
In music we enjoyed learning and performing rock music, including ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ with a range of instruments.
In science, we began exploring our new topic by defining new vocabulary, quizzing each other and completing and comparing animal life cycles.
